Awarded in 3 grades, the Mother’s Cross honored German motherhood. Militaria’s crosses the 2nd pattern, inscribed on the reverse, “16 Dezember 1938, A. Hitler”, and plated in bronze, silver or gold with blue and white enamel. These are excellent quality, die-struck copies of the originals and are furnished with a 12” length of ribbon.

The Case (purchased separately) is navy blue with a cream colored, flocked bottom recessed for the cross & ribbon, with the maker’s name inside and a gold cross embossed on the top.

[Every year on his mother’s birthday and on Mother’s day he issued medals to German women according to how many children they raised. Bronze Cross: Awarded to mothers with four to five children. Silver Cross: Awarded to mothers with six to seven children. Gold Cross: Awarded to mothers with eight or more children. I have also read the story of how Hitler personally cared for his mother when she was dying of cancer. He cleaned the house and cooked by himself and cared for his mother until she died – he was only 18 years old. Jan]
